Is ChronoBoxes free?
Yes. ChronoBoxes is free to use. There is no subscription, checkout or paid tier.
Can I add photos and video for free?
Yes. A normal ChronoBox can include up to six JPG, PNG or WEBP images and one MP4 or WEBM video within the displayed file-size limits.
How long can a ChronoBox with uploaded media stay locked?
Up to six months from creation. Server-stored content may remain available for up to 90 additional days after opening.
Do I need an account?
No account is required for the core creation and opening flow.
Where is my content stored?
Text-only normal boxes can keep encrypted content in the private URL fragment. If you upload photos or video, the message and media are stored on the server so they can be revealed later.
Is ChronoBoxes permanent cloud storage?
No. Keep independent backups of important media. Server-stored content uses temporary retention.
Can I support the project?
Yes, optionally through Ko-fi. Tips do not unlock features, extend storage or change any ChronoBox.
Does ChronoBoxes use analytics cookies?
Google Analytics is loaded only after analytics consent. Technical local storage needed for requested functionality may still be used.
